Any rumours out there for a game before Gibraltar or ROI next year?

Surely the SFA aint going to turn down the opportunity to get some more cash in.

Regan mentioned on Twitter games in March and June.

Suppose final say is with Strachan, so I have my doubts we will play a game before the ROI game next year (given he didn't seem all that interested in a game back in May and has turned down chance to play a game before Germany... plus he scrapped the Malta friendly before Croatia last year)

I think you have Georgia mixed up, as we play Germany few days after that one.

The ROI game is a week later than Croatia.

My understanting this year was Strachan always wanted a game in May, just not on the other side of the world which seems fair enough to me.

I think there will definitely be a game before the ROI game. It's nearly 3 weeks after the end of season.

Edited because Predictive text on this phone is doing my fkn head in.

He also turned down a number of friendly offers before the Croatia game in Glasgow (IIRC Morocco wanted to play us then, rather than over the play off date, and sure Uruguay were also mentioned).

My feeling is, Strachan does not really care for friendlies (but will play them now and again) or the World rankings, especially if they are in the way of a important qualifier a few days later.

I think we will play on March, but most likely not in June (but that is just based on nothing more than a gut feeling based of previous experiences with Strachan since he took over, so maybe he will have a change of heart)

Could do with a friendly before Ireland. Premier League and Championship season (including playoffs) conclude weekend of 24 May and FA Cup Final on 30 May (let's face it, the majority of players will be from those Leagues).

Ha asked Regan on twitter if there were any negotiations going on...

His response: "One or two :-)"  from Monaco...I wonder who paid for that trip...

Good to hear they are on the case of getting something arranged.

Given the amount of away games we have had recently, would expect at least 1 of them to be at home.

UEFA's monthly federations meeting is taking place in Monaco this week.

Guaranteed friendly before Ireland away.

The championship finishes a whole month before the game so a good chance a fair number of the squad could have no game time for 4 weeks beforehand.

Defo friendly. Norn Irn away perhaps in their new stadium ??????

Work is not due to be complete until 2016, as it is just the two "modern" stands at Windsor Park at the moment after the main stand and "hut" like stand behind the goal were flattened this summer.

Would love to play France and Italy again. Just when we are getting back into the spirit of the 2006 and 2007 campaign too !

It's been a while since we played the likes of Portugal (2002), Bosnia (1999), Greece (1995), Finland (1998) Malta (1997), Latvia (2001), New Zealand (2003) or Canada (2002) for a wee while now. And we haven't played Turkey since our only game against them in 1960 ! It was refreshing to see the SFA arrange the match against Nigeria, which turned out to be a good game. A match against another African team or even a South American team would be great.

Avoid the the usual fare such Austria, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland and the Faroes.
