  1. As someone who probably bets more than they should - and regularly uses bet365 - i'd like to try and re-assure folks that the bet365 offer is no scam and that there are genuine (and undoubtedly profitable) motives behind these free bet offers. Please don't be deluded and think it's only a matter of time "before they catch on". The reality is that for everyone who places a "no lose" combination of bets, there are probably 10 "regular customers" who use the risk free bet on the off-chance they can make serious money. Most will lose, some will win, but the bookies will have succeeded in attracting enough pre-match "qualifying bets" to make a significant profit. They will also attract a large number of people to open new accounts to take advantage of the offer, many of whom will start to use these accounts regularly. So if its a no-lose bet your after, fill yer boots ! p.s. there are however a couple of things to watch out for, which aren't made explicitly clear in the promotional emails. 1) qualifying pre-match bets must only be single bets (not accumulators), otherwise your in-play bet won't be risk free. 2) if you cash out your pre-match qualifying bet at any point, your in-play bet won't be risk-free. The strict t&c's are simply to cover their backs. I've been caught out on both points before, but argued that the promotional emails i'd received had specified nothing about cashing out - or single bets only - and got my in-play stakes refunded as a "goodwill gesture". Worth bearing in mind if you do get in a position where you don't receive your refund. So go for it and good luck ! (Barca to lift trophy and Barca -1 in-play for me).
  2. Ah well, if they still had a timeout left, that maybe changes things. What a crazy game though (in general). With my money on the Pats, I was actually hoping Seattle would get across the line quickly in that last drive just so Brady had the slimmest of chances (20 seconds or so) to get NE back into field goal range to force overtime. Must be the only game in the world where you can actually want your opponents score ! I agree TT, 6 month off season now is very frustrating.
  3. Seahawks will be feeling pretty "deflated" after that one ! I can't remember, thought Seattle were out of timeouts? With 20 seconds left, they'd only get one more play if they ran the ball (and remember Lynch was stopped short the previous play). At least a passing play gave them a couple more shots - I don't think it was a bad call, just very badly executed. Only thing in Wilson's mind should be to avoid an interception and only go for it if safe. No one would have questioned the call if it wasn't intecepted. No one's questioning the call at the end of the first half, because it came off (and ruined my Pats HT-FT bet grrrr).
  4. I've never been great at getting my point across, but for anyone who dares to dream of a better future, it seems a no brainer - rise now and vote YES! The no campaign continually talks about "unanswered questions", yet they have consistently failed to clarify the detail of any package of devolved powers that will be guaranteed to Scotland in the event of a "no" vote. With the polls being so close, it seems to me that the unionists could have sealed the deal and clinched the vote by specifying the detail and providing a guaranteed commitment to strong new powers, yet they have been both unwilling and unable to do so. Perhaps this is because the Westminster parties can't (and so won't) fundamentally agree on any such package. Or because the public spokesman wheeled out last week (Brown) to make commitments to unspecified powers isn't actually part of the UK government any more (has he forgotten)? Or maybe because tory backbenchers are now coming out and saying the will actively vote against any new devolved powers ? I personally think the definition of many of the "undecided" is that they are not happy with the status quo, would like change but are concerned that full independence is too much of a risk. The promise of devolved powers is the tactic to give them that little bit of (false) re-assurance that it's ok to vote no and that things might get better in future. It's important to dispel that myth. As someone else said, it is the undecided that will decide this referendum. With less than one week to go, now is the time to convince them. So how would you sum up the case to convince the undecided - and help me to convince the undecided - to vote YES ? In a sentence (or short para) - please give it your best shot !
