  1. any regular todders goers on here back up the connor barron love in going on here ? I'm not convinced at all
  2. I know that a lot of weegies moved up norf due to the oil ,and portlethen was/is classed as Little Glasgow but as as far as I know we still stand free but maybe the folk from the Broch would disagree but then again walking into a Broch bar is like walking into a star wars bar....
  3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn0n0dnrezko word from allerdice street is that they saw the fireballs once and fancied some of it,patrons of troopers are monitoring the situation
  4. for all the above obvious faults I have to admire the fact that when he opens a pub in an old building he doesn't rip the soul out of it,examples being, the counting house and crystal palace,in glasgow, the ticket place in edinburgh and another bank in george street in edinburgh and the cinema one is amazing aberdeen has again an old bank in archibald simpsons, the justice mill is what it is ,an old shop
  5. Re the above, my retirement job as a handyman for the hotel/serviced apartments industry has really opened my eyes to the practices of booking.com,expedia etc etc. you may think you are getting a cheaper deal through the sites and possibly very minimally you are but trust me you are at the bottom of the food chain when overbooking /room sizes etc comes into it.when you stand in front of a receptionist of a hotel you think you are booked into and they have no details of you but you booked through a 3rd party site you are wasting your breath, your booking contract is with whoever you booked with,expedia,trivago....and you need to speak to them. First break I booked since I realised this was april last year in Belgium,I booked directly with my hotel,we turned up 4hrs earlier than the normal check in time but hoped we could drop our bags and come back later.Receptionist said everything was fine and in her own words because we had booked direct with the hotel we had been upgraded and our room was ready. So, if you can afford it always, always, always book directly with the hotel/accommodation,trust me..especially the older demographic of our support who cant be arsed with hostels anymore...
  6. for me neither, dugs, anywhere any time, spent years cleaning the sh*t off of my kids shoes from playparks, and defending them from " oh they are just being friendly" dugs off their leads. the default for people out and about with their dugs should be 100% the next person they meet does not like dugs, keep it on a lead ,a short not one of those 10 metre things that everyone trips over,if the other person likes dugs they will clap them,if not everyone passes each other and carrys on. school-playing field on my road with huge signs saying no exercising of dogs and one saying no golf practice allowed ,I have to say the golfers are adhering to the notices but the dogs are still shi**ing on the kids playing fields every single day bit of a rant,no doubt the responsible dog owners will be back at me but I know responsible people who let off fireworks
  7. cormack stayed in morrison drive,2nd block of flats to the right of the seven hillies as you look up to Ivanhoe road or the first block...cant remember...so long ago
  8. for those following this thread.... advance party has arrived and fully ensconced in the penthouse in the merchant city, No 1 son along with his wife and the 2 grandchildren have arrived and completely upset the calm equilibrium that I had established using the power of brewdog. No 2 son arrived unexpectedly with the kilts which resulted in a very wet dash to wilson street, (its absolutely pi**ing down here),No 3 arrived via the choo choo from gods country at queen street so myself and No 1 made up the welcoming party and had a small drink in the counting house before returning to the penthouse. No 4 arrives tomorrow and some sort of dress rehearsal at the wedding venue is also on the cards which doesn't actually involve me apart from being the designated driver. anyway...more to follow
  9. I might have mentioned this previously but I found autumn/winter the worst time, its cold, dark for a long time of the day and you cant get outside because of the weather to do stuff.I travelled for a while the first few months but soon realised that was eating into the lump sum.As for the motivation thing I realised that the longer you do nothing you tend to fall into the cant be arsed doing anything,I went from cycling 12 miles a day for 4 days (back and fore to work) doing laps of my streets on the other nights and played 5's/7's after coming off of my last nightshift to doing nothing much harder than walking and even then that was to the shops/pub/mithers. I have found a nice wee part time job as a handyman at a complex near me 20 hrs a week, walk it in 8 mins and can please myself how the 20 hrs are made up and it still leaves me time to look out the front window in the morning hands clasped behind my back watching the traffic go by...so you definitely need something to occupy yourself. I'm now also the unofficial handyman for all the old dears in the street and the unofficial pavement gritter in winter
  10. she wasn't but I was...coachhouse on friday for me after delivering the limoncello and putting the radiators back on the wall and a few other jobs the loon is incapable of
  11. same here lost all enthusiasm/impetus to travel even for home games, although I was watering my sons garden in the BoW and periodically checked the lap top for updates
