  1. And, the VONC is in the Sottish Government. Of those bits of legislation that you mention, only two if them were ever voted on, and they were passed by the Scottish Parliament not the Scottish Government. A subtle but important difference.
  2. OK, I've just looked at Sarwar's motion. Not a pleasant job but somebody has to do it. 🤣 It's just a vague one liner, so it could be construed to mean anything they want it to.
  3. There is always a heavy dose of hypocrisy in most things that politicians do. I would guess they would argue that the VONC isn't about those bits of legislation that they themselves voted for. I haven't seen the details of Sarwar's VONC motion, though.
  4. If it does turn out that Regan votes to bale out Humza, then there will be no doubt in my mind, that it was all set up before yesterday's announcement. Still very risky though, as it would only need one SNP MSP to be "off sick" or one of them to "do a Kezia" and forget to press the button. My prediction is that Humza will go. Sarwar's VONC will not pass, and SNP continue in Government. SNP elect a new Leader. Stephen Flynn wins and Shona Robison does the Scottish Parliament stuff until Flynn can become an MSP.
  5. I'd settle for a fortnight right now. 🤣
  6. I think Buckie are appealing the decision. It does all sound very sleazy though? The SFA/SPFL must have known about this and just did fuck all about it. Where is the sporting integrity in this.
  7. I think the Greens will vote against Humza but maybe not against the Scottish Government, if that vote was to happen? They can be quite clever about this if they want to. Or, do Humza, Salmond and Regan already have a secret wee pact sorted out? At least Scottish politics is a wee bit interesting for a few days again.
  8. The Scottish Greens could inadvertently give us Shona Robison as First Minister. 🤣
  9. Yes. This could lead to a Holyrood election. Do the Scottish Greens want to be seen to be responsible for electing a Tory or Labour first minister though?
  10. The only way that could work is if all the other parties got together to agree a new first minister, which would effectively mean a coalition between Labour and Tories. Can't see that happening a few months before a general election. Their London bosses just wouldn't allow it. They would also need LibDim support as well. They are not going into coalition with anybody any time soon, after what happened to them the last time they did it.
  11. I'll bet Humza is absolutely buzzin' right now. He will be thinking along the lines of "I've survived for over a year with absolute bucket loads of shit being thrown in my direction, it's now time for me to show them "wha's in cherge aroond here". Will it work? Time will tell, I suppose.
  12. His response of "I wouldn't know, personally" was almost Salmondesque. I wonder if he has been seeking some advice from some different people than he has been, up to now? 😉
  13. Sounds like Humza has got his retaliation in first. Wise move, IMO. Maybe he (or his advisors?) aren't as daft as some folk seem to think.
  14. Aye, we should never underestimate the "glory hunter" effect. If folk think their team has a real good chance of winning, they are much more likely to go. It's the same for any club or country. Same reason why most Scotland games are now almost sell outs, when we struggled to get over 35,000 a few years ago.
