BigBearScot's Achievements

  1. I have been considering moving to a veggie diet due to health reasons. I don't think that I could go Vegan because of my love of milk and cheese, I have tried some of the vegan cheeses and the consistency is just not right. I also spotted this in Glasgow on Saturday, a place called Rose and Grants on the Trongate
  2. Have you tried Mindfulness? Two Years ago I had some mental health problems and the Health and Wellbeing team at work recommended the following book https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mindfulness-practical-guide-finding-frantic/dp/074995308X I got the Kindle version which guides you through some of the exercises. When I get stressed, I do one of the ten minute exercises and it helps immensely. It calms me down and then I can deal with some of the more difficult issues.
  3. I thought it was okay, wish they spent a bit more time on the Wallace Mercer takeover of Hibs and the Dundee/Dundee Utd Merger. As to Only A Game, I was too young to see it first time around but I spotted this during some googling http://www.robroyfilms.co.uk/tv/only-a-game-the-story-of-scottish-football-bbc-1986/
  4. It's basically just Ketchup, Water and other stuff. Super simple
  5. The sauce is easy to make as well http://www.ashokarestaurants.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=48&Itemid=139 I have made a version of this which uses lemon juice instead of the Yoghurt to make more of a red sauce.
  6. I visited a mate in Ibrox and I did notice the new paint job and the rebranding.
  7. Charlies, Bellshill The Goose, Union St Glasgow - horrible place, crap beer and full of pished up neds Stadium Bar, Ibrox - went here on a subcrawl, jeeze grim. Stirrup Cup, Main St Rutherglen - popped into here before heading down to Hampden. It was like going back in time to the 70s, I swear there was a thrupenny bit in my change Grant Arms Argyle St. Glasgow - Horrible place, full of neds and jakies
  8. Allison Arms (Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow): Excellent selection of German Beers and other Craft Beers Max's Bar (Queen Street, Glasgow): First went into the place in 1996 when it was called the Rock Gardens. The food is decent and it has a good selection of beers on draft (St. Mungo's, Joke IPA, Caesar Augustus) Butterfly & The Pig (Bath St, Glasgow): Pub isn't brilliant but the food is excellent. Fish the size of small whale and a steak pie the size of the my face. The Southside one is also rather good with a better selection of beer than the City Centre. The Scotia (Stockwell St, Glasgow): Great live folk music, great bar. The Elm Tree (Orchard St, Cambridge): Amazing selection of Belgian Beers, the owner goes over and brings back crates of the stuff.
  9. The costume basically comes from the excellent Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. Batman vs Superman steals bits from the that book (Batman fighting Superman, Superman getting caught in a Nuclear Explosion, Older more jaded Bruce Wayne, Robin costume defaced by the Joker). I didn't believe the reasons why they were fighting, very poorly done. Henry Cavil as Superman is sneery, humourless man child. Only redeeming parts of the movie were Alfred and Wonder Women, I can't wait for a standalone Wonder Women film.
  10. http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/sebastian-payne/2015/07/john-mcternan-on-labour-leader-who-cares-about-the-grassroots/ McTernan is clearly not a fan. "in the unlikely event Corbyn wins, there is something is done swiftly and quickly to restore the party to its sense."

  12. When was the last time you heard that at a Scotland game? I haven't heard it in years.
  13. This popped up on my Twitter feed https://billmcmurdo.wordpress.com/2014/12/19/a-massive-red-herring/ Some of the highlights include "This new culture we have as fans of micro-managing the club and perusing every detail of its fiscals is not healthy and leads to paranoia and suspicion. It takes us away from being supporters to wannabe administrators and directors. A Walter Miity world of fantasy boardroom.: "With no disrespect to lesser teams, if we start paying what lesser teams pay we will become one of them. Rangers men get Rangers pay. Thus shall and should it ever be." Basically the argument is, who cares about high wages? We are Rangers so we should pay more. If we don't, then we may appear like one of those 'lesser teams'. Bonkers, I really hope that not many Rangers fans think this way.
  14. Democracy doesn't mean shutting up. Do parties disband after they lose an Election? No, you campaign for what you believe and try to persuade people that your POV is the correct course of action. At the moment, the Yes side are basically saying, we are not going away and if you don't deliver on your promises of extra powers(remember the 'Vow' and Browns' almost Federalism/Home rule) then the question will come back about Independence. Without the threat of Independence we wouldn't have the Scottish Parliament(it was going to kill 'Nationalism stone dead') and we would never had the offer of new powers. If we shut up then we'll get nothing from Westminister.
