  1. Have you called the Operation Yewtree hotline about this?
  2. Apparently some people are buying single length for 4-7 irons, then shorter ones for 8-wedges for exactly that reason. There's a bit more to it than just the single length. The long irons (or I should say "long" irons) are weighted and cavity backed to make up for the shorter arc and slower impact speed. Lower speed at impact = better control, and the weight/technology takes care of the distance satisfactorily. At the other end, the PW and GW are basically blades. I've had no problems with them being longer, not hitting them heavy or anything. The extra inches give extra "choke down" ability as the distances drop. I had the clubs custom-fitted, 2.0 upright and with lightweight steel shafts. End result is that they all fly at least a club further than my Ping Gs did. And land softer. I'm still getting used to the distances - I've hit through a few greens while I get my head around them but that's a nice problem to have. Definitely clean-striking clubs and they definitely remove complication from the game. They would also be a big hit in Larkhall. Have you seen the colour of the grips?

  4. This trial is undoubtedly costing a right few quid. The trial is about acquiring Rangers by fraudulent means and the witnesses heard to date are witnesses for the prosecution. That is, those statements so far shuold be helpful in demonstrating that Whyte is the rogue. So far, we've heard that the bank was in charge and was desperate to offload to the first helpful idiot who would take it off their hands. The Rangers' board were toothless and had considered appointing administrators some time before Whyte came along. And that Murray had a £112M incentive to offload Rangers to the first helpful idiot who came along. I'm surprised that the case hasn't been dropped. (Murray Metals having been bought by the bank for £112M in 2005)
  5. Bought the single-length Cobras. Early days yet with only 4 rounds under my belt. However, all rounds have been under handicap and I'm loving them. Also, the dry weather has the courses in Central Scotland in brilliant condition for this time of year. Firm fairways and fast greens = happy days.
  6. Seems about right over the piece, although Celtic's recent momentum (both on the pitch and in the financial world) gives them the edge over RFC now. But, yeah; Dumbarton in clear 6th and no Ayr United. As it should be. I might be tempted to drop Third Lanark from this chart because momentum seems to be against them. Their last game ever was against Dumbarton too. Makes you think. As an aside, I've been wondering for a while if it would be possible to compile figures for average Away attendance from a team and how that compares to their average home gate. Any ideas if that could be done?
  7. Been taking lessons since September, looking forward to this season with optimism. I've been a 16-18 handicapper since I chucked playing football about 7 years ago, but feel I should be getting down to 10-12. Lessons have helped and was planning to get some new clubs. Popped into the golf show at the SEC on Saturday and have been seduced by the Cobra One Length irons. Anyone tried these and any thoughts? Reviews seem good and I thought they felt great.
  8. Was a response to "they think it's all over", but a typically STV effort which became known as A Game of Few Laughs.
  9. ah. of one of the bands i'd previously randomly guess-entered.
  10. I'm still not getting the liberty/location one. oh, and what's the guy in the painting doing? On the mug front, ignore that it's a mug, just accept that it has been ....... i'm on 88.
  11. Could they not have done that without such a spectacular loss of life and property damage in NY?
  12. So, I might regret asking this...but... Assuming this was an inside job. Jointly by the CIA and Mossad. Why?
  13. Yes, looks like everyone will have it. Please don't open it or click on the attachment. Trust the SFA will be immediately notifying the ICO and co-operating with this data breach and any subsequent investigation and fine for the breach of privacy and any failings in their holding of sensitive personal data. I blame Stewart Regan who should resign immediately. And Gordon Strachan for picking James Forrest.
