  1. Depends what age you are, did you just pick a club out of a hat soccer am style?
  2. "Due to the poor quality Im forced to support an English club" Bollocks! You really are at the wind up. Due to the poor quality of the Scottish leagues none of our boys are forced to support English clubs therein lies the problem with the L.O.I. it can never improve when the punters are "forced" into overseas gloryhunting.
  3. So does everybody else on here, looks like you missed the point.....
  4. Yes you said millions which is utter nonsense I'm afraid. And you asked me why I found it strange to love football and not support a club. I would say 99% of people would also find that strange.
  5. Utter nonsense, Millions?.... ye right. Kenny Dalgliesh summed it up better than I can " as a young kid you tend to find a particular player or club who you idolise and that is where you get your love of football " You cant love football and not support a club, i read before that even referees have to declare which club they supported growing up, so this neutral love of football is a load of crap. Even the most hardened GAA lads have a favourite team. The nature of sport is the buzz of winning and losing without it its pointless
  6. yes just like barcelona..... irrelevant point.
  7. First off playing champions league and winning trophies is far better than playing for Everton, secondly as i pointed out his sister tragically died very young and he may want to be close to his family. It is a fact he has been watched by scouts from nearly every premiership club including managers in the flesh, Im certain he had offers on the table as well, that has been well documented. I'm calling you a LIAR!, you do support an English club but don't have the balls to admit it. And you come on the tartan army board and slate our league and Captain, Away back to "Bohs"
  8. Champions league maybe? plus his family went through a rough time so maybe he's happier closer to home.
  9. Not too far from me, no bother, well I do attend games and you don't need me to tell you but watching players in the flesh is totally different to watching them on TV as an armchair pundit.
  10. So you watch football from all across Europe and England yet have no favourite club? that seems very strange to me, Do you actually attend any games?
  11. Ye that's fair enough. Ill take his word for it, but my point was valid surely it must be frustrating to see people paying for planes and ferries to watch overseas teams at exorbitant prices when that money could potentially make your own domestic league stronger? And on the point of Brown v McCarthy I would have Brown at this moment in time, he has finally started to fullfill his potential and is a real driving force and leader now, McCarthy has undoubted ability and will eventually get there but iv'e never seen him dominate a game or take it by the scruff of the neck. But we can only wait and see.
  12. Not assumptions at all, I happen to live in Ireland and have done for the past 15 years so these are genuine observations and when Man U or Liverpoool are playing on Sky you can barely get into a pub, there's even a large Leeds following. I personally know lads who head over to Old Trafford and Anfield on a regular basis you surely cant deny that?.
  13. Just that you come on here and slate the SPL and seem to know a fair bit about players in the EPL for someone who is "not fussed on club football". You see I suspect that you have an allegiance to an English team like 90% of all Irish football fans, and that is the problem in with the league of Ireland. If you weren't too busy supporting foreign teams rather than supporting your local clubs your league might actually improve. Its an interesting paradox that the Irish are so patriotic and Irishandproud yet you choose to support Foreign teams, especially from a country you have a bit of history with.
