  1. I really don’t understand why. The SNP would be far better off and more powerful if they moved on from the greens. It’s a massive distraction alienating the middle ground. I could vote for the SNP with Forbes leading, but not with the greens holding any influence.
  2. Swinney should grow a backbone and tell Harvie and the other weirdos to fuck off. Embarrassing listening to harvie and Grier. he needs to back his deputy FM. he should be clearly saying he isn’t interested in working with the Greens.
  3. FFS… the Greens. Far too much airtime for wee dicks that got a tiny percentage of the vote. I have had enough listening to bleAting on about LGBTQ rights (still no idea what the queers are) - they have plenty rights. I’m not interested in the slightest 8n hearing any more about it. Far far bigger issues.
  4. We have a big problem. The UK has a big problem. Fundamentally, too many people dont work, therefore we over tax those that do, and we can no longer support our infrastructure. i was in Spain recently and what struck me was how clean, well developed and technologically advanced it was. it was like stepping in to an economy far more successful than our own. basic things- the streets were not pot hole ridden and beautiful, there was virtually no litter, things worked and it was beautiful. Coming back to Edinburgh felt like entering the third world. Oh yeah, and good food and wine was priced entirely reasonably. No more can we laugh at thr “backwards” nations like spain like we did in the 70s. the uk is fast becoming a relative shit hole.
  5. That does not look like a team capable of doing much at all.
  6. and whilst I don’t agree with her personal position on that point, I admire her for fronting it up and being honest about her beliefs even though it’s at odds with her parties belief. we don’t all have to agree on everything. It’s toys out the pram behaviour from those that don’t like her personal views despite it having no impact on party policy. Similar thing in football… fans don’t want a manager because they played for a certain club, despite the fact they would do a good job at theirs. Completely illogical.
  7. nobody said defending gay marriage was loony fringe. You took that because I said that only the loony fringe of the party would oppose her. Whilst Kate has personal views that marriage should be between a man and a woman, I don’t think there has ever been any suggestion that she does not accept that society embraces gay marriage and she would not seek to change that. I don’t see any problem with that.
  8. you are absolutely right. I don’t really like the Lib Dems, and ACH is a bell end. I think the Lib Dems are seen as a more centerist party that whilst agreeing with the gender nonsense would not push it as an agenda. It would allow the snp to govern and pass legislation until another election.
  9. I agree with this, things can be equal but different. I have no problem with gay marriage. It’s all a bit semantics but I appreciate that these semantics are important to people. We then get in to a place where should marriage only be allowed between Christians, and civil partnerships for non believers. personally I don’t care, not believing in religion or marriage particularly.
  10. well, no, of course he wasn’t. Depends on whether you think the use of the term “poof” as a slur is not homophobic unless directed at someone who is actually gay. I would say it probably was.
  11. it wasn’t so long ago that the whole tartan army was homophobic with a song about our friend Jimmy Hill. Whilst she personally might not of voted for gay marriage I believe that she would have brought it to a vote if leader. She sees beyond her own religious views.
  12. yes, he had already killed someone and was threatening to kill again. At that stage he should be shot. Would also save the cost of keeping him jail for the rest of his days.
  13. Kate Forbes’s religion is Christianity which for hundreds of years has been the predominant religion of this country. We are not talking a religion where they stone women to death and throw gays off the top of buildings like extremists of some others we could discuss. She is mainstream. Personally I am an ahtheist and I find her entirely relatable and sensible. I have met her on a couple of occasions and she is bright, articulate and head and shoulders above the Shona Robinson’s of this world. Only the loony fringe would have a problem with Kate Forbes in power.
