I got about a quarter of the way through.
 
Denisovich is a much easier read, but worthwhile having a look at Slavomir Rawicz's 'The Long Walk', Michael Krupa's 'Shallow Graves in Siberia' and Joseph M. Bauer's 'As Far As My Feet Will Carry Me'. All a similar theme, but Rawicz's book is the best.


Read the long walk several times, just read it with enough whisky and it seems like a new book every time... ( though fiction a great read)

No, but I really enjoyed that book.
 
The Great Flure, who I have now promised to crown Master of the Universe, has found it for me. It is called Peace on Earth but somehow I was too stupid to find it even with the name. I did see it on the book list last night but only read the start of the outline and when it compared it to Day of the Jackal I didn't bother to read anymore just thought, "naw"
