To make us feel part of the Games, maybe, but why?
And why football, of all things? and why Glasgow, why Hampden of all places?

Does anyone know the actual official reason why they wanted to spread some things round the country?

They're using all the 4* Stadiums on the island of Britain (except Ibrox)
Will swap.
For money...

To justify the obscene amounts of money that is being spent in the South-East of England on OUR games. Not to mention the money that got siphoned off what was originally destined for the development of sport in Scotland (amongst other things it has to be said) .Does anyone know the actual official reason why they wanted to spread some things round the country?

Its hardly a new thing.... at the Moscow Olympics, events were taking part in Tallinn, and the football was getting played in Minsk and Kyiv.
At the Atlanta games, most of the football events took part in Florida, and at the Sydney games Adelaide and Melbourne were used.
Thing is, in the past, when it comes to the football, they live within their means (at Olympics in the 1996, 2000 and 2004, they used stadiums that held in the region of 15-35k for the games.... this time around they seem to think they can fill out 50-80k stadiums!)
