Cahill injured and Martin Kelly called up instead of Rio, does make a mockey of Hodgson's inital "footballing reasons" for leaving him out of the squad.

Terry nursing a hamstring injury also. Suppose they still have Jones and Jagielka to partner Lescott if needed.

As was asked yesterday, if it was Terry who pulled out instead of Cahill would Ferdinand have been given the nod then?

Times like these will make the good times all the sweeter :)

I'd imagine so. From the outside it looks as though Hodsgon has spoken to them both and decided there is no chance they can be in the squad together

Maybe it is down to the fact that the convicted drug cheat has a bad back, and Taggert told Roy that he couldnt play in all the 3 games.
If it is a footballing decision then picking Martin Kelly ahead of the drug cheat is quite correct
Today we have got the truth tomorrow we want Justice for the 96.

If he told Hodgson he couldn't play in all 3 group games then that's something to consider but I'd say a 80% fit Ferdinand is a better replacement for Cahill than Kelly

I don't think it's possible to form a definite opinion on this situation without knowing exactly what has been said and done, or what Hodgson really thinks.

True, just an educated guess

Yeah, I wasn't having a go at anyone here. It's just that there's so many unknowns to the story.

One thing I would ask is why Rio is being so vocal now? Why didn't he come out weeks ago and say that he would have no problem being in a squad with John Terry?

Just because he's in the dirty manc u team doesn't mean he's got a right to be in the england team. Maybe Roys got a problem with drug cheats?

His forms been questionable all season and anyway I think it'll be much more amusing to have that useless bunny rabbit Jones in the team instead!

Confirms Hodgson and the FA of ring sneaky wee bastards.

Ferdinand is an innocent party. Terry let's be honest isn't.

England a team with zero integrity.

IMO hodgson needed to make a choice between the two and he had to go with the better defender, hence the reason for saying it was footballing reasons

You do for the better player when all other things are equal.

The FA, if it is them, are to blame, is it an internal investigation or a police one for Terry being a racist? Thats the issue here, if he is guilty then he should never play for England again, if he is innocent then he and Ferdeinand should have been selected. The length of time between incident and trial/investigation is ridiculous,

Can you believe all the greetin faced warmers?

Jesus, I'd hate to have a new manager who won his first two games reasonably easily and was organising a squad for the European Champs!

I still can't believe John Terry got changed into his strip and shin guards after being banned for the final and lifted the cup, i thought it was a wind up.

I saw a tweet where someone was going on about how they get changed into a full chef uniform and carve and serve the roast after his wife spends 3 hours cooking it all.
