Never thought I would come on here quoting an "annonymous source" but here goes...

Heard from someone at the SFA that if this offer (ST tied to Wembley ticket) is deemed a success then their plan is to repeat it in the future with another "glamour friendly" attached to the package.

unless they are doing Wembley every 2 years is there any game that would have the same appeal?

No surprises there and as Orraloon points out, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that if we were to qualify for a Finals, this would be somehow tagged to a future ST package.

The rot has started.
Tickets wanted: USA 98, Colombia 96, Malta 97, Denmark 96, Sweden 95, Greece 94, Estonia 93, Norway 92. http://www.scotlandprogrammes.co.uk

Of course they'll do it again if it works out well. You don't need an insider to tell you that. Given that they clearly don't care much about the SSC members and want to make as much moeny as possible its a no brainer for them. Like others have said, the only away fixture you can see being as big as England would be a tournament game.

Maybe they'll change it though and just offer a free ticket to a lesser friendly game. ie buy a season pass and get a free ticket to a brazil at wembley-type friendly.

Maybe surreal and I really haven't thought it out,but how about a point for a season ticket, and the still same points for going away.

That way, home loyalty is rewarded as you have signed up to go,and away loyalty is rewarded as per usual.

That's how I would do it. You buy a season ticket, you get a point. No guaranteed ticket for England etc, just a point to put you on the ladder which, if 20,000 tickets were distributed to all those on points, would ensure all those who bought the season ticket would get a ticket anyway, but only after everyone else on points so there's no-one on 2 points with Brazil away to drop off worrying they won't get a ticket.

Anyway, does anyone have an update of how many season tickets have been sold, and how many England tickets have been reserved?

Got an email from the sfa the other day saying: "Of the 9741 season tickets booked, 8842 members have reserved an England ticket."

Say, at the end of the allocated time, only 12000 people reserve wembley tickets, there should still be 8000 at least going on sale to peeps with points.

Don't know how many people have points.

Aye, there could be a few wee logistical problems for that plan to work.

i thought the allocation that each country got was pretty small for the world cup, seem to remember England only getting around 10% for each game so by the time you set aside enough for the points holders there wont be any left

By that time it will be season ticket buyers first, points holders second. Rules can change you know.

nah cant see it, if they are only getting 5-6000 tickets for a game not really worth it.
can see why they did it with this campaign as they had 15,000 tickets to shift

could you imagine the computer meltdown if they did
