Anyone at wembley 77 ? If you were you must remember Sailing been sung. It was amazing along wi all the flags. Bring it back !!!!!

I have to agree, it was incredible that day. Sung it and just kept repeating verses for about 15-20 at a time. Rod Stewart was in the main stand and just before half time he got down onto the track and then jumped into the terracing with the 'troops'. He said later he had gotten all emotional hearing the crowd singing Sailing. Heard it the other day and it brought it all back. Would be brilliant to get that going again

That would be cracking at an away game.

Hoist up the saltire flag
Follow the Scotland abroad
Sing for the famous dark blue, don't wanna go home
Don't wanna go home
Don't wanna go ho-o-o-me
This is the best trip, I've ever been on

Or

Hoist up the saltire flag
Follow the Scotland abroad
Sing for the famous dark blue, just let's us go home
Just wanna go home
Just wanna go ho-o-o-me
This is the worst trip, I've ever been on

Maybe someone could come up with better lyrics. Prefer the first one. :)

Repeat til full-time whistle. Then go home.

Ha ha love the 2nd version. :guitar:

There were 10 pints of Stella, sitting on a bar,
There were 10 pints of Stella, sitting on a bar,
And if Barry Bannan, decides to drive his car,
There'll be 9 pints of Stella, sitting on a bar....

I've always thought that the best atmosphere on the terraces comes from songs where there's no words to learn as everyone can hum along. I've also always been infuriated by Doe a Deer because it's got nothing to do with Scotland. I'd pick a few Scottish songs that lend themselves have the necessary no words section and belt them out...

500 Miles is nothing new, but we should "sing" this more, not just at half time.
The Frattelli's Chelsea Dagger would also be a good tune that everyone could get involved in.
..Shouldn't be a need for words with either of these songs. That way they can go on for much longer.

Outside of that.... I was always partial to a bit of Gerrintaeum .... Should be sung for the first five minutes of every game.

How about a twist on chorus of Amy Macdonald's Pride?

We'll move mountains if you ask us to
We'll swim the seven seas
We'll be the ones to hold your torch again
We'll do anything you ask of us

or even...

We'll climb mountains to support you
We'll swim the seven seas
We'll be the ones to hold your flag again
We'll do anything for your goals

...or something like that.

Hope at least the Hampden DJ's onto the original!
