So, you wouldn't include Scott Brown either?

 

I don't see how they're even slightly comparable.

 

Brown's played in 33 games this season, including internationals and the champions league thru to and including the last 16.

Faddy's made a dozen appearances for motherwell, all in SPL matches and other than that has barely kicked a ball in 3 years.

 

While Brown's been out recently, he's back match fit and is still mentally attuned to playing at the highest level because that what he's been doing this season and for the last 6 years. Faddy, much as I love him, is not.

 

You'd also have to consider who can replace them. For Faddy we have Snodgrass, Morrison, Maloney, Forrest, GMS, Burke and Adam who are all capable in his positions, and most of whom are performing well at a higher level. We don't _need_ Faddy for this game. In Browns position however, we have McArthur.. and that's about it. We do need Brown.. pretty much in every game at the moment, there is no comparable alternative that someone else provides.

That's the only good performance I can remember from any of those players in a Scotland shirt in a good while.

 

James McFadden can be having a bad game or go missing for a large part of the game, but the reason he's in there is because he can create something out of nothing. Something that others can't. That's the major difference. Fitness shouldn't be an issue IMO.

PS Ive seen all 90 minutes of 10/11 games Faddy has played for Motherwell so Im not relying on how good he looks in highlights.

I accept a lot of what you say in respect of how his performances have been but I will go back to what I said previously. The main thing he has brought to Motherwell is Leadership. Something none of the names on your list have.

No one is asking him to play 90 minutes but when we are 2 or 3 down after 70 minutes then I see no harm in throwing him on and letting him a go.
