If Burley's favoured formation is 3-5-1 then maybe I should have voted for Burley to be sacked!!

Me too!

That should of course have read 3-6-1

I no longer wish to see Burley fired. I am prepared to give him a chance in the Holland game but, we need a minimum of 4 points in the next 2 games

Be nice obviously, but I think it's probably a bit unrealistic. All the signs are that the Dutch are a class above anything else in the Group, so specifying that Burley must get something away to them or be sacked is unrealistic. After last night (and more by luck than design) we now look like being right in mix for 2nd place. Concentrate on winning the rest of our home games (hopefully by the time they arrive at Hampden the Dutch will have the Group won) and try to take something off of Norway in Olso. I still feel that the damage has been done, and we have left ourselves too much to do in terms of getting enough points for the play-offs, but after the hyseteria of the past few days there's no doubt results last night worked in our favour.

Never could stand that dog.

We should give Burley our full backing until the end of the campaign, and then his future should be crystal clear - finish 1st and second = job done, finish below that = not good enough  . It's quite straightforward, really. There can be no excuses, we've got an easy group and anything other than a play-off would represent a step in the wrong direction.

Eddie Thompson should be a great advertisement to the SFA mafia.

We dithered over Berti and we are doing the same over the clown we have now.

If you want success you have to be ruthless and if there is one person on here that can honestly say that they see great things for us under George Burley then you should go and watch another sport.

We have a chance of the play offs now but not under this manager.

We all know it in our hearts but a good few prefer not to be true to themselves.

We have seen no inspiration or any evidence that Burley has what it takes, in fact all we have seen is the feel good factor and the confidence of a good squad wither away.

But of course, we all know how good Dundee United are at appointing and firing managers, FFS is that how desperate you are to make a point?

Nope its all about realising someone is sh!te and getting rid of them quickstyle before it's too late, something that you are no doubt finding difficult to comprehend.

Obviously you have a wee soft touch for Burley with the Hearts connection which is clouding your opinion.

Either that or you have been on the moon for the last 6 months and not watched out sharp decline under him

 question my intelligence and throw in Hearts for good measure, desperate desperate

Thankfully the majority on here agree with myself, and not you

Question: do you want to be proved right or wrong? I seriously think you want to be proved right and see us fail to qualify.

And you have the cheek to say i'm coming out with desperate arguments

Yeah thats right, ive booked up for amsterdam so i can hopefully see us get pumped again.

Why not answer the most valid point in my argument in that since Burley has taken over we have deteriorated as a team sharply or are you willing to accept the cringe argument going around in that we are just not good enough ?

Obviously if i am right i will take no pleasure in telling you that next year but if thats your response to someone who disagrees with you then thats pathetic tbh

Sorry, but the way you're acting over this whole issue gives the impression that would relish Scotland failing and Burley getting the boot, so you can turn round and say "told you so".

Some of your posts have been reminiscent of a religious nut with a sandwich board telling us the worlds about to end, preaching to us that we are all blind to the inevitable and repent now and be saved, although that wallace1297 character is probably worse TBH.

I think Burley will get us second place and playing a good brand of football, whether that's enough to get us into the play-offs I dont know. You disagree. Fine, that's what this place is about, but quit the continual preaching eh?

I see you have still not answered the valid point in where you think the team has gone since Burley took charge.

And i'm not going to even bother rising to your pishy comments. If anyone is the blind nut it's yersel.

But yeah since you have been constantly spouting crap about how Burley is the man i will take great pleasure in reminding you alone how wrong you were next year any time you give your opinion about anything.

If do surprisingly however hope you are right so (a) we do qualify and ( i wont have to humiliate you, although your stance is based solely on stubborn faith and i aint seen any evidence that he is capable, which by the way is what i have been asking all along yet you keep avoiding & resorting to verging on personal abuse.

Are you for real?

As for your "valid point" the team are no further forward than they were at the end of the last campaign where they suffered a pathetic 2-0 defeat in Georgia and a gallant defeat to Italy. When Burley finally gets the services of Ferguson & Hutton and McManus and Miller return, we should settle down into some decent form and move forward to securing 2nd spot.

See, that was easy. No wailing and nashing of teeth & no decrying anyone who holds the opposite view and calling their opinions "crap" or accusing them of being blind, you should try it some time.

Wow. Never said they were further forward, more they were going backwards or is that too difficult to grasp ?

I didnt realise you were so blinking deluded about where our team is going though

Kinda worrying.

My opinion has been made tho and i will say no more about it

Reeky will never recognize that you have a valid point regardless of how valid that point may be or how hard you try to explain it to him. Take my advice and don't waste your time.

You can hand him an olive branch, try to joke with him, try to establish some middle ground. No use, he is right and anyone who does not share his undying faith & confidence in Burley is wrong.

Unfortunately Reeky fails to grasp that: Contempt prior to investigation will keep a man in ever lasting ignorance.
Sad but true.

Interesting to note that AM played McManus, Ferguson, Miller and McFadden (no Hutton) in the Georgia game so he was going for a more attacking style, probably in an attempt to get pts before playing Italy, and obviously it didn't work. A lot of people were crying out for a 4-4-2 formation and when he did use it, he now gets criticized.

What I don't understand is having learnt those lessons from the last campaign, and indeed the 3 friendlies earlier this year, GB plays a 4-4-2 against a potentially difficult team in Macedonia (where he did have the services of Miller and McManus) and look what happens.

We have been given a lifeline with the results on Wednesday and now still have a fair chance to qualify, if our performances improve drastically. However, even when Hutton and Ferguson get back we will still have to play a damn sight better and with more astute tactics and confidence if we are going to get a result. GB produced good teams at Ipswich and Hearts, but I've yet to see a Scotland team play a good game under GB, much to my surprise. I hope to heck he can turn things around and give the Argies a tough game in November.
