Craigie, I have checked out the distance from Sofia to Skopje, it is only about a four hour drive. I don't think that you would need an overnight stay. We went from Sofia to Novi Sad in a mini bus, it took us seven hours to get there, and about the same back. I think it cost us around 50 euros a head, there were eight of us and the price included two drivers. I can try and find out the name of the company if you want. 

Its a cultural tour, no rush.

Was in a pub in London couple of weeks ago and watched the second leg of the semi. In there was a group of four or five of the most arrogant, obnoxious, Neanderthal people you could ever hope (not) to meet. Giving it all the "We are Chelsea", "We're the greatest", etc bollocks and generally annoying the fack out of everybody else in the place.
If you'd have believed all the shyte they were babbling you'd have thought they were the club's biggest and bestest ever fans.
I quite like my knees being in the middle of my legs, so resisted the temptation to ask them if they were such brilliant fans why were they no at the game then.
Sadly these guys fitted in with my past experience in that pretty much every Chelsea supporter I have ever met has been a complete and utter obnoxious twat.

Buses run every 2hrs from  ljubijana bus station to the airport on a saturday 4,20 euros single , 45 mins journey time.
