World Whisky Day

18 May 2013 - 06:51 PM

What better time to crack open a 12 year old Chivas Regal...  it's blended and was a gift but I'm not complaining!

I'm fortunate to live 2 minutes from a shop that sells good whisky and have tried quite a few including Ardbeg,  Macallan, anCnoc and Bowmore to name some.

Any further recommendations and regular prices?  I've no real idea of what they should be costing...   paid around €45 for Ardbeg 'at least 10 y/o' and 50 for a basic Macallan.

Noticed a Glenfiddich 18 year old for around 40 euro in Spain last week...   good price?

Funny, yet informative video on tasting..

Mcnamara Signs Two

17 April 2013 - 01:15 PM

So Chris Erskine and Paul Paton are off to Utd.

Paton will be found out early doors in the SPL but Erskine might do a job unless he has a couple of shyte games in a row and loses confidence.

For Thistle; Erskine will be a loss.  He can win games on his own and has a good football head (most of the time).

I wish them both well and hope Paton gets that left foot he's been asking Santa for.  They were good servants for Thistle.

So, Utd fans.  When are you or your manager going to pay up?   We're due compensation after you took our manager...    I think it's upwards of £100k.

Can ye even afford that?

Football & Politics

This should have been published tomorrow...

Sunday People Sport can reveal that Number 10 is taking a ‘massive interest’ in the potential switch of the Scottish giants.

Cameron’s surprise part in the controversial move is two-fold:

  • Because of fears over safety if the Glasgow clubs go into England’s lower leagues and ‘swamp’ small grounds with their massive support.
  • And, bizarrely but significantly, to catch votes in the upcoming vote on Scottish independence.

If true, then surely it's time for FIFA to get involved.
