Hi folks,

Anyone know of anywhere in Gothenburg that might be showing the Scotland match? Bit of a long shot but thot I'd check!

Cheers,

Scottish Players Autographs

26 January 2014 - 04:19 PM

A couple of months ago I managed to get Dennis Law, Jim Leighton and Craig Brown to sign my Scotland top. Since then, I've decided I'm going to try and fill the shirt with the autographs of ex Scotland players. I've drawn up somewhat of a 'whish list'. Some should be fairly easy to get, some a bit tougher and some I don't have a clue about how I'll get. The following players are ones I noted down and don't have a clue how I could get them to sign it...

 Archie Gemmill

 John Greig

 Gary McAllister

 Mo Johnston

 Gordon McQueen

 Dave Mackay

 Sandy Jardine

I'm aware that a couple of these guys don't keep to well/are a fair age, but I wondered if they were still involved in anyway at their ex clubs....

 Anyone got any ideas?

 Cheers!

Scottish Hawkers, Tinkers And Travellers

14 October 2013 - 11:31 AM

I've always been aware that my on my dad's side of the family there had been some 'tinkers', that came from up Huntly/Inverurie way. He himself told me about going to his grandads house and out the back it being an 'absolute bomb site' with all sorts lying around.

But I'm interested to find out what exactly tinkers in the North of Scotland were all about? From what I read they weren't exactly travellers as such, but more like 'door to door' sellers, of all sorts.

I also came across my grandmothers birth certificate which stated her father as being a Hawker. Anyone know much about these?

I've already done the usual google searches...just wondering if anyone has a more local knowledge of these folk!
