All we need is for Croatia to do something similar and Belgium to get chucked out for mugging the TA and we're in a fight for 2nd place!

A Win Tonight....

16 October 2012 - 07:58 AM

I can totally see why most people want a new manager, and the odds are that it'll happen after this evening's match.

Trying to take a more balanced approach, it feels to me that the team are close to kicking on. Levein has created a good solid unit from the shambles he inherited, has a talented young squad and from what the players are saying he has a good management style.

All that's missing is a spark - a good win to give them that self belief and see them kick on to fulfil their potential. The 1-0 home win over France had a similar effect for Smith and Eck. The win we would have had in Wales with a 2-0 lead might have been the one.

The odds are that after this evening it'll be another manager that inherits Levein's squad, builds on his foundations and takes us forward.

Personally for what it's worth I would love to see a win this evening, to keep us in the hunt however distant but more specifically to see if that next step could be taken under Levein - I take no joy at all in seeing people fail, especially when they manage my country.

The Smell Of A New Football Top

07 September 2012 - 04:14 PM

A real childhood smell, brilliant.

I used to hang them up in my room where I could see it when i woke up....

Got the new home top today, the best design ever imo, and the same new top smell.

Unfortunately being 40 and married it had to go into a drawer until tomorrow morning :(

We're still joint top of the group though

......C'mon Scotland!

Hampden To Loch Lomond Kiltwalk 2013, Sunday 21St April

06 September 2012 - 09:41 PM

Just when your feet thought they were safe........

Next year's Hampden to Loch Lomond Kiltwalk takes place on Sunday 21st April and is now open for registration

And we have 3 distances to choose from, so something to suit everyone...
- 26 miles Kiltwalk...the original event, starting behind the goals in Hampden Park, piped out with the Scotland manager and on to Loch Lomond
- 13 miles "Half Kilt"...joining up with the main walkers at Bowling Marina, finishing at Loch Lomond
- 10km Wee Walk...round Balloch Castle Country Park

Sign up now at www.thekiltwalk.co.uk

This year nearly 1,000 people took part raising an amazing £213,000 and in 2013 we're looking for double that.

All proceeds are shared between some of Scotland's best loved children's charities including TACC, CHAS, Aberlour and CLIC Sargent.

A new charity will be added on Sunday 16th...watch this space.

Additionally, any teams that enter are invited to nominate another children's charity close to their heart to get 50% of what they raise. In 2012 over 30 charities benefited in this way from £500 to £16,000, including the TA Sunshine Appeal who will be getting a £2,573 grant from The Kiltwalk.

So put your best foot forward and do your bit for Scotland kids.
