Now going through the process, cost is £102:00 and the agency do the letter of invite and arrange all things with the Russian embassy , does appear to be complicated to start with but once you get into the process its not to bad.

Indeed its not too bad as long as you get yourself registered within the timescale allowed then you should have no hassle.

Never flown Qater but when I was flying to India on business my senior boss gave me a little piece of advice which went along the lines "I know you live within a stone throw of Edinburgh airport but fly Emirates from Glasgow".

I'd recommend getting somebody else to do it.

I used these folk: http://www.realrussia.co.uk/

Was hastle free, and had I done it all myself I wouldn't have saved a significant amount of money.

They can do it in about a week if need be, but i'd recommend doing it quite far in advance as it takes away a lot of hastle.

That's what I used to do, you don't even have to go to the Visa handling agency.

Grand Bizarre well worth looking round. We stayed in Best Western The President which has a rooftop bar with stunning views over Istanbul. Go their for a beer just for the views! :ok:

Agree with this, I had the bizarre experience of a group of veiled woman from Saudi all wanting my photo
